Axikin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (www.axikin.com) is a small biotech company located in Torrey Pines. We are currently recruiting for a permanent full time laboratory technician position in the Department of Chemistry. Duties of the successful applicant would include, but not limited by, the following:

1. Perform synthetic organic reactions and/or purifications as per documented procedures.
2. Perform analytical evaluation of reaction products for identity and purity using modern analytical instrumentation (HPLC, LC/MS, NMR, etc.)
3. Maintain and manage chemical inventory of the department.
4. Ensure adequate stocks of common reagents and solutions to allow for the smooth running of the department.
5. Maintain the functioning of analytical instruments (i.e. HPLC, LC/MS) of the department as per instructions.
6. Perform simple in vitro assays following detailed protocols.
7. Other duties as needed in support of the various projects of the department and smooth functioning of the department.

Applicants need to be able to work independently with minimal supervision, follow standard experimental safety protocols, work to defined deadlines, and multitask.
